The Challenge

EngineeredPlans launched in 2025 with real engineering expertise, a WordPress website, and $1,000 set aside for ads. There was no technical team and no existing system for handling client documents, payments, or day to day staff operations. The owner needed to build a fully running business online without hiring an IT department.

What We Did

Large Image Delivery

The website needed to handle full resolution photos of large properties including entire houses. We built the upload and delivery pipeline so images are compressed without visible quality loss, keeping pages fast even with large files.

PDF to Interactive Carousel

Engineering PDFs often run 20 or more pages. We built a converter that turns those documents into animated, page by page carousels on the website. Clients can browse drawings in the browser without downloading anything.

File Sharing with TrueNAS

We set up a TrueNAS file sharing server with role based access control. Staff and clients only see the folders assigned to their account. This removed the security risk of sharing documents by email and made project collaboration much simpler.

Payment Integration

We connected PayPal and Canadian bank payment options to the website so clients can pay for jobs online. Invoices stopped going back and forth by email and the business started collecting payments faster.

Local SEO

We optimized the site for searches like engineer Toronto and deck drawings Toronto. These are the exact terms the company's clients type into Google. EngineeredPlans now ranks on the first page for its core service keywords.

Paid Ad Management

We ran ad campaigns on Google Ads, Facebook Marketplace, and Kijiji. Targeting, demographics, and spend were reviewed and adjusted every week based on what the numbers showed. The campaigns reached a 6.5% click through rate.

Time Tracking and Leave Management

We built an internal tool that lets staff clock in and out and submit sick leave requests online. The owner gets a clear record of hours and absences without chasing paper forms or relying on manual spreadsheets.

Vacation Mode Automation

We built an automated system that activates when the owner marks themselves as away. It forwards incoming emails to the manager and sends clients a message letting them know about the absence. Nothing falls through when the owner is out.
